About LEDs

LED lighting – better, cheaper, greener and safer

An LED is a Light Emitting Diode. At its heart is a ‘chip’ of material that transforms electricity into light.
Because it is solid state technology, LEDs are robust and long lasting.

Using LED lights will:

Cut energy costs. A 50-90% reduction in energy usage will cut electricity costs.

Reduce carbon footprint. And help you to meet environmental obligations.

Cut maintenance costs. With a lifespan of up to 80,000 hours, maintenance costs are significantly reduced.

Reduce health & safety risks. Maintenance can be planned, eliminating ad hoc replacement, particularly at height.

Improve lighting quality. LED lighting is available in a range of whites and colours, constant for its whole lifetime.

Achieve lighting consistency. The original lighting design is not degraded by blown, faded or mismatched lights.

Cut air conditioning costs. Air conditioning costs are significantly reduced because LEDs generate little heat.

Reduce UV damage. LEDs don’t produce UV light, so furnishings and other items won’t fade or become fragile.

Cut handling costs. Unlike fluorescent tubes and CFLs, LED lights are robust and don’t contain mercury.

With all these benefits, It’s not surprising that major organisations are turning to LED lighting solutions. And the trend is reinforced by increasingly stringent UK and European environmental laws and building regulations.
